Welfare
Leeds & Bradford Triathlon Club recognise that the welfare and wellbeing of young and vulnerable adults is paramount and that every member has the right to be protected from abuse. This is why LBT are following the British Triathlon Federation’s guidance on Safeguarding.
If you have any concerns about the welfare of a club member or suspect abuse is taking place please contact our Welfare Officer in person or by emailing welfare.officer@lbt.org.uk
The role of our Welfare Officer is to:
- Act as the first point of contact for individuals who have queries or concerns regarding safeguarding
- Ensure that all club personnel who work with children / young people have received appropriate training.
- Facilitate the process of DBS checks when required.
- Receive, record and forward to the Lead Officer of your Home Nation any concerns that are expressed to you.
- Keep confidential records of all related documents.
- Ensure that the club has a safeguarding and child protection policy and that this is followed and accessible to all.
- Be familiar with national safeguarding and child protection policies
Safeguarding of Children
LBT follow BTF guidance on the safeguarding of children. All our coaches have undertaken the relevant and recommended training and hold an in-date enhanced DBS check.
