Junior & Youth Sections
Established in 2006, LBT Juniors has grown and developed to form a Junior Section for ages 8-14 and a Youth Section for 15-19 year olds.
Our British Triathlon qualified coaches deliver structured sessions for swimming, cycling and running activities for all age groups as well as supportive topics for the Youth Section, such as bike maintenance, strength and conditioning and nutrition.
We use a number of facilities such as Leeds Beckett University pool and grounds, the Brownlee Centre cycle circuit, Otley Sailing Club lake and other great locations in and around Leeds and Bradford for cycling, running and orienteering . All our sessions are on Saturday mornings and timings will be dependent on the venue and activity.
Our aim as a club is to provide a fun, inclusive and safe environment for all abilities to learn and develop skills. Through positive and social experiences , we encourage all children to take part, have a go in all elements of the sport of triathlon. We will also encourage and support children who want to participate and or be competitive in local events and races.
We currently have spaces available so please email junior.club@lbt.org.uk or youths@lbt.org.uk for more information and details on how to join.
LBT Junior Aquathlon
Each May we host a Junior Aquathlon in Leeds. An Aquathlon is a swim followed immediately by a run and the perfect introduction to multi-sport events. The swim takes place in The Edge, a 25m heated indoor pool and the run is on a closed circuit round the university campus with electronic chip timing.
This is a great event for all abilities to get involved in the sport from first timers to junior athletes who hope to compete for the region.
