Fantastic Social Evening at Otley Lake

Last night the club held a social evening at our open water swimming venue of Otley lake. The weather was the best we’ve ever had it and the water was 23.8. This meant that the majority of our members ditched their neoprene an swam in the lovely fresh water without a wet suit.  Huge thanks have to go to Linda, Rachel, Tina and all other “Ham and Egg” ladies who cooked for around 100 people and put on a simply fabulous and delicious spread. They really did the club proud.

Fantastic weekend of triathlon in Leeds

This weekend saw the AJ Bell World Triathlon Leeds event take place in Roundhay park and the centre of Leeds over the weekend. Of course there was a huge number of our members taking part in all of the events from the junior, youth and Go Tri events on Saturday to the Sprint & standard on Sunday. After the age group races it was time to sit back and watch the pros show everyone how its done. The plaudits have come in for the way the city came out to support all the athletes – we’ll happily take a small piece of credit for that!

250 Junior & Youths Enjoy Duathlon

Yesterday the club hosted a duathlon race at the Brownlee Centre in North Leeds. It was part of the junior race series for the Yorkshire region. 250 budding athletes took part on the run – bike – run challenge and had a great time. The Yorkshire weather even held despite the ever darkening skies! A big thanks to Aldi, Triangle, David Lloyd Clubs, Sun-Maid Raisens and Yorkshire Runner for supporting the event.
