On the 17th of September the club ran the Ilkley Triathlon and this year was its anniversary 25th year making it one of the longest consecutively running events anywhere! 450 athletes enjoyed the event which has won event of the year multiple times. Compliments were given by all for another well run event and in particular our marshals who are all members of our club were singled out for praise in the official British Triathlon Race Report:- “Without exception this is a very well marshalled event. All of the marshals I watched working were very calm and supportive of competitors all the way through this event. All the marshals were volunteers and it is a credit to Leeds & Bradford Triathlon club that so many turned out to help run this excellent event.”

A hugely successful junior season came to a conclusion at York at the weekend – the future of our sport is most definitely bright. A big thanks from everyone who took part and especially the LBT member Mark Summerson and his team of volunteers who enabled 550 junior athletes from 63 different clubs to take part. At the weekend we had age group winners, podiums and generally a lot of happy LBT triathletes enjoying the XTRA MILE EVENTS Leeds Triathlon. Happy to say we also won the club competition!
